Sargent and Greenleaf (S&G) is a leading provider of UL® Listed safe locks to the gun safe industry. For over a year, S&G has been a member of the National Gun Safe Coalition, an organization that is working hard to advance the role gun safes play in promoting responsible gun ownership.

The NGSC mission is to:
• Encourage gun owners to purchase gun safes by passing federal legislation to provide an income tax credit to taxpayers who purchase a qualified residential gun safe for proper storage of firearms.
• Encourage firearm owners to properly store their firearms in residential gun safes.
• Educate the general public and government policy-makers on safe firearm storage practices.
And the coalition is already making a difference. Working with concerned legislators, the NGSC has crafted the “Child Protection and Home Safety Act of 2005.” This important legislation provides gun owners with a twenty-five percent tax credit (up to $250) for purchasing a qualified residential gun safe.
