SARGENT AND GREENLEAF REACHED 1,000,000 HOURS WORKED WITHOUT A LOST TIME ACCIDENT
NICHOLASVILLE, KY – (November 13, 2017) – Sargent and Greenleaf (S&G), a division of STANLEY Security that manufactures high-security mechanical and electronic locks for safes, vaults, safe deposit boxes and highly sensitive SCIF environments, reaches 1,000,000 hours worked without a lost time accident.
Workplace safety has always been a top priority and of daily significance for S&G, and this monumental milestone is a direct reflection of those efforts. They have been recording these hours since February of 2014 which makes nearly four years of no accidents.
S&G has made workplace safety a part of their culture, and achieving this outstanding safety record was a result of true hard work. This accomplishment demonstrates the personal commitment from each employee to make safety their top priority.
“I am very proud of the 1,000,000 man-hours with no lost time milestone the S&G team has accomplished. This doesn’t happen without the dedicated focus by all employees that safety is the #1 priority. S&G has a long history of providing and supporting a safe work environment and we plan to continue that focus well into the future,” states Brian Leary, Chief Operating Officer, Sargent and Greenleaf.
“This is truly an amazing accomplishment that reflects the culture of the organization. Special thanks to Stephanie Potts as the EH&S leader for the business. The S&G team's commitment to safety continues to set the bar to new heights,” states Craig Saunders, Plant Manager, Sargent and Greenleaf.
On top of their normal safety program, S&G runs a safety incentive program that rewards its employees quarterly for performing tasks that align with their safety mission and safety roadmap. The idea behind this program was to develop a system which encouraged all employees to take a proactive approach in preventing injuries as well as identifying, evaluating, and controlling workplace hazards. This encourages more employees to get involved, but also recognizes those who go above and beyond.
S&G has also received the Kentucky Governor’s award for the past three years for health and safety. This award is earned by not having any lost time accidents and by not receiving any safety violations. Click to review the Governor's Safety and Health Award press release.
